Volunteer Training Opportunity

Mountain Crisis Services provides VOLUNTEER TRAINING that is state certified through CalOES Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Programs. Per Evidence Codes 1037 and 1037, advocates must have completed 40 hours domestic violence and 40 hours sexual assault training (combined total of 80 hours) before working with survivors. Prospective volunteers must attend every training session in order to become eligible for the state certification. Trainings are hosted twice a year. However, domestic violence training is available online and can be completed at leisure. Once finished with online DV training, volunteers can begin volunteering but only work with domestic violence survivors until they are sexual assault trained.

If you’re interested in applying for this training and in becoming a volunteer with Mountain Crisis Services, please go to Volunteer Application Form (Link opens a PDF document that needs to be printed and completed. The PDF is not currently screen reader friendly).  In order to participate in future trainings, please fill out an application and e-mail it to katy@alliance4you.org and she will contact you for a follow-up interview for future trainings.
